Emmaus proposes 112 percent water rate increase

Emmaus Borough Council, at its Nov. 21 meeting, discussed the need to increase water rates. Facing a deficit in the water fund, Dr. Roger Whitcomb, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, presented a proposed new rate structure that will eliminate the shortfall while generating a modest surplus of $32,236 for 2006.
